Albi Boutique Hotel
Albi Hotel – Boutique Hotel Design in the Heart of Jerusalem
Albi Hotel was created through the complete transformation of an existing building in Jerusalem's historic Nachlaot neighborhood into a five-story boutique hotel. The structure was stripped back to its core, fully redesigned, and rebuilt with new systems throughout, with the goal of creating a unique hospitality experience that combines authentic Jerusalem character with the standards of contemporary boutique hotel design.
The project included the development of an entirely new hospitality program featuring guest rooms, suites, and boutique apartments, each designed with its own individual character. The planning process focused on creating an intimate and personal guest experience, allowing visitors to feel connected not only to the hotel itself but also to the city and neighborhood surrounding it.
The design was inspired by the meeting point between historic and modern Jerusalem. The stone alleyways of Nachlaot, the nearby Mahane Yehuda Market, traditional Jerusalem stone, and the neighborhood's distinctive atmosphere were translated into a clean, contemporary, and welcoming design language. Natural materials, soft color palettes, and carefully crafted details create a sense of comfort, warmth, and connection to place.
One of the project's central challenges was designing a boutique hotel where each room would have its own identity while maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the property. The result is a hotel that successfully combines design, culture, and location to create an authentic and memorable Jerusalem hospitality experience.
For me, Albi Hotel represents the power of thoughtful hotel design and hospitality planning—the ability to transform an existing structure into a destination with a clear identity, character, and story. It is a project where architecture, interior design, and location come together to create a complete guest experience.
