Goodness – Vegan Restaurant Expansion and Interior Design

Goodness is a project that has accompanied me for many years. After designing the restaurant in 2016, I was invited back in 2019 to plan and design its expansion as the business continued to grow and required additional seating and hospitality space.

The primary challenge of the project was integrating the new extension with the existing restaurant in a way that would create the feeling of a single, unified space. The renovation involved significant architectural and structural modifications, including the partial removal of a distinctive wall built from unique bricks made of sand and seashells. This wall had become an important part of the restaurant's original identity, making it difficult to part with, even partially.

The design process focused on creating a seamless connection between the original space and the new addition while preserving the atmosphere and visual language established in the first phase of the project. Materials, lighting, and architectural details were carefully selected to ensure that guests experience the restaurant as one cohesive environment, without feeling the transition between old and new spaces.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful restaurant design and expansion planning can support business growth while preserving the unique character and customer experience that made the restaurant successful in the first place.
