Hatul HaBars – Bar Design in a Historic Building

This project involved the interior design of Hatul HaBars, a bar located within a historic building with a unique architectural character. During the renovation process, an unexpected discovery was made: beneath thick layers of plaster, beautiful original stone walls were revealed, becoming one of the project's defining design features.

Following the discovery, the decision was made to expose and preserve the stonework as an integral part of the design concept. The natural stone adds authenticity, depth, and character that cannot be artificially recreated, allowing the building itself to tell part of the story.

The design was developed around the contrast between old and new, combining the historic stone walls with contemporary lighting, furniture, and carefully selected finishes. This balance creates a warm, intimate atmosphere while giving the venue a distinctive identity.

The result is a bar that celebrates the character of the original structure while introducing a contemporary hospitality experience, blending history, materiality, and modern design into one cohesive space.
