Private Residence in Mevaseret Zion – Interior Redesign and Outdoor Transformation

This project involved the complete redesign of a private residence in Mevaseret Zion, with the goal of improving the family's quality of life while maximizing the potential of both the interior and exterior spaces.

One of the project's main challenges was the backyard, which was located approximately 1.5 meters below the level of the living room. This significant height difference created a disconnect between the house and the outdoor area, leaving the garden underutilized for much of the year. From the earliest planning stages, it became clear that reconnecting the interior and exterior spaces would be a key element of the design strategy.

The solution involved raising the entire outdoor area to match the level of the main living floor. After completing the required infrastructure work and pouring a new concrete base, a substantial timber structure was constructed and finished with premium Ipe wood decking. This transformation created a seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor living areas, making the garden a natural extension of the home.

As part of the outdoor design, a built-in four-person jacuzzi was integrated into the deck, accompanied by an outdoor kitchen and a dedicated outdoor shower. Together, these elements created a private leisure and entertainment area that can be enjoyed throughout the year while significantly enhancing the overall living experience.

At the same time, the living room and kitchen level underwent a complete redesign. The project included full infrastructure planning, reconfiguration of the public living areas, custom millwork design, material selection, and comprehensive lighting design. The objective was to create an open, functional, and inviting living environment tailored to the family's lifestyle while strengthening the connection between the interior and exterior spaces.

This project demonstrates how thoughtful planning and design can completely transform the way a home is experienced, turning underutilized areas into central living spaces and creating a comfortable, welcoming environment that is uniquely tailored to its residents.
