Buhanik Butcher Shop – Redesign of a Family Butcher Shop in Holon

Buhanik Butcher Shop is a well-known destination among meat lovers in Holon and the surrounding area. Operating since 1969, this family-owned business has built its reputation on quality products, professional service, and strong personal relationships with its customers.

When I was commissioned to redesign the shop, the main challenge was not to create a completely new identity, but rather to preserve the character that had made the business successful for more than five decades. The owners wanted the butcher shop to remain warm, familiar, and family-oriented while adapting it to contemporary retail and operational standards.

The design language deliberately avoids an overly luxurious or intimidating appearance. Instead, it focuses on creating a welcoming, approachable environment that reflects quality, authenticity, and professionalism. Materials, lighting, and architectural details were carefully selected to reinforce these values while preserving the shop's long-standing neighborhood character.

The layout was redesigned to improve product presentation, customer flow, and operational efficiency while maintaining the direct and personal interaction between staff and customers—one of the key elements behind the business's success over the years.

The result is a renewed butcher shop that respects its history, preserves its family identity, and provides customers with a modern, comfortable, and high-quality shopping experience.
