The redesign of Avenue Hotel on Dizengoff Street in Tel Aviv focused on refreshing and upgrading the existing property while preserving significant parts of its original infrastructure and architectural elements.

The objective was not to carry out a complete renovation involving extensive demolition and reconstruction. Instead, the project identified the existing elements with potential, retained them where possible, and introduced carefully considered interventions to create a more contemporary, cohesive, and distinctive hotel environment.

In the guest rooms, new custom millwork was designed to replace outdated furniture and improve functionality, comfort, and the overall visual experience. A new color palette was developed to introduce character, depth, and a refreshed atmosphere without requiring major structural changes.

Lighting design played a central role in the transformation. Existing systems were retained wherever possible and enhanced through precise adjustments, additional fixtures, and a renewed lighting strategy, creating a warmer, more contemporary, and more inviting environment throughout the hotel.

The lobby was also redesigned around the existing structure. With only limited construction work and no major demolition, the space was transformed through a new material and color language, new furniture, selected architectural additions, and a complete lighting redesign. The result is a clearer, more welcoming entrance experience that gives the hotel a stronger identity from the moment guests arrive.

The project demonstrates how an existing hotel can be successfully refreshed, repositioned, and significantly improved without undergoing a full-scale renovation. Through strategic planning, focused design decisions, and selective intervention, it is possible to achieve a meaningful transformation while maintaining budget control, reducing construction time, and minimizing disruption to hotel operations.
